A self-closing caddy handle developed through iterative compliant-hinge prototypes.

Design a gym-caddy handle whose hinge closes on its own when hung on equipment — with a team of four.
Iterated through compliant and rotary hinges: thin PLA proved too brittle, a rotary hinge wobbled, and successive compliant versions were reshaped and repositioned. The arm was shortened and moved to the top-left so it self-closes without fighting other parts. Prints were compared across Prusa and Bambu.
A working low-fidelity prototype that self-closes, with the hinge-to-body junction identified as the high-flexion point to design for in single-piece manufacturing.
